The Korean women’s under-17 (U17) national team, led by head coach Kim Eun-jung, will challenge to win the 2024 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U17 Women’s Asian Cup.

South Korea will have its first Group A match against North Korea at Bali Training Center in Indonesia at 5 p.m. on Saturday (Korea time). It will then play its second and third group matches against Indonesia at 8 p.m. on Saturday and the Philippines at 5 p.m. on Sunday.

In this tournament, eight teams will participate in the group stage in two groups, and the first and second place in each group will go to the semifinal tournament.

The top three teams will qualify for the 2024 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic in October.

South Korea went to overseas training in Portugal in January and prepared for the showdown with its final tempering in Boeun, Chungcheongbuk-do, from April 26 to 30.

“Kim Eun-jung-ho” will challenge two birds with one stone not only to secure a berth to participate in the World Cup but also to win the title for the first time in 15 years. Korea won its first title at the 2009 Thailand event by banking on Yeo Min-ji and Kim Da-hye, but has been somewhat sluggish since then, with three eliminations in the group stage.

Korea is committed to dispel regret from the past through this year’s event. Promising female soccer players including Casey Eugene Fair (Angel City), who has been selected as a member of the A team and is considered the biggest star of this year’s event, will participate in the event.

Coach Kim Eun-jung expressed confidence through the Korea Football Association’s SNS, saying, “This generation is good enough to break the recent bad trend of the women’s age-specific national team.”

“I will make every effort from the first group match against North Korea. I will win the first round and confirm my advance to the semifinals within the second round,” he said. “I will not only qualify for the World Cup but also win my first championship in 15 years.” 메이저사이트

Meanwhile, South Korea is inferior to North Korea in past matches of the U-17 women’s team with one win, one draw and five losses. In recent four showdowns, the team was completely defeated after failing to score a single goal.
