NBA star Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors will receive the Charlie Seaford Award from the World Golf Hall of Fame.

The Hall of Fame announced on Monday that Curry will be honored for his work to promote diversity in golf, according to Reuters.

The ceremony will take place on June 10, 2024, in Pinehurst, North Carolina, during the 124th U.S. Open Championship.

Known as an avid golf fan, Curry made a significant donation to Howard University, a historically black college in Washington, D.C., in 2019 to support its men’s and women’s golf programs for six years.

Two years later, he launched an initiative to make golf accessible to young players from disadvantaged backgrounds.먹튀검증

“I am honored to receive the Charlie Seaford Award,” Curry said in a statement, “I believe the game of golf can grow by providing equal opportunities for young golfers with passion, dedication and determination.”

The Charlie Seaford Award was created in honor of Charlie Seaford (1922-2015), the first African-American to become a member of the U.S. Professional Golf Association (PGA) Tour.
