Oh Seung-hwan on the verge of a milestone…’-1′ to KBO’s first 400 saves

Samsung Lions closer Seung-hwan Oh, 41, is on the verge of reaching another milestone.

With 399 career saves, Oh is just one save away from reaching the all-time great 400-save milestone.

Now in his 19th year, Oh is a “living legend” who holds most of the KBO’s save records.

Starting with 100 saves in the fewest games and shortest time in 2007, his third year in the league, he reached 150 and 200 saves in 2009 and 2011.

His 200 saves in 334 games was a world record for fewest games played.

Oh also became the first KBO player to reach 250, 300, and 350 saves, setting an unrivaled record for saves.

Despite being away from the KBO for six seasons, from 2014 to 2019, Oh accumulated saves at an incredible pace.

In June, he reached the milestone of 500 saves in Korea, the United States, and Japan.

Seung-hwan Oh is a six-time all-time saves leader, and in 2021, he recorded 40 saves in the oldest season in history.

For the foreseeable future, it’s unlikely anyone will break his record.

Second-place Son Seung-rak (271 saves), third-place Lim Chang-yong (258 saves), fourth-place Kim Yong-soo (227 saves), and fifth-place Koo Dae-sung (214 saves) are all retired.

Jung Woo-ram (Hanwha Eagles – 197 saves) is now the team’s No. 2 closer, while Kim Jae-yoon (KT WIZ – 169 saves), the eighth all-time and third active, is 230 saves behind Oh Seung-hwan.먹튀검증

Seung-hwan Oh had a rough start to the season, struggling to get through one start.

However, he has stabilized dramatically since the middle of the season, going 4-5 with 29 saves and a 3.58 ERA.

The KBO will present Oh with a commemorative award if he reaches 400 saves.
