North Korean women’s basketball’s 205-centimeter Park Jin-ah scores 51 points on her own in win over Chinese Taipei
North Korea’s women’s basketball team won its first game of the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games behind 205-centimeter center Park Jin-ah.
North Korea rode the sheer height of Park Jin-ah to a 91-77 victory over South Korea in their Group C women’s basketball game on Sunday at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium in Hangzhou, China.
Park, who stands nearly 7 centimeters taller than South Korea’s Park Ji Soo (198 centimeters), used her height to her advantage and scored a whopping 51 points on her own.
Park made headlines for her height when she played for the “Peace Team” in the inter-Korean unification basketball tournament in Pyongyang, North Korea, in July 2018, when she was 15 years old. She was the tallest of all the male and female players at the time.
His movements were slow, but his height advantage was obvious. Five years later, his body has grown bigger and his skills have improved.카지노사이트
Coach Ha Sook-ye, who led the team to the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Games, remembered Park as the daughter of Ri Kyong-sook, who played for the North Korean women’s national team in the 1990s. Ri Kyong Sook was also a center who stood over 200 centimeters. Park did not make the national team at the time.
Meanwhile, Roh Sook-young, who won a silver medal with the team at the Jakarta-Palembang Games, showed her unchanged skills with 16 points and 10 assists.
Having teamed up five years ago, the two Koreas are now rivals and will look to attack each other’s rims.
North and South Korea will face off at 6:30 p.m. ET on Sept. 29.
