Lingard to Saudi Arabia? Gerrard to train with Ittifaq
Midfielder Jesse Lingard, 31, has been linked with a move to the Saudi Arabian league.
European soccer transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano reported on social media on Wednesday (Aug. 23) that Lingard is set to train with Al Ittifaq. Al Ittifaq, which is managed by Liverpool frontman Steven Gerrard, has been on an attacking spree. Following the signing of Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson, the club added Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) midfielder Giorginio Beynaldum earlier this month. The club currently sits in fourth place in the Saudi Arabian league with five wins, one draw, and one loss. In first place is Al Ittihad with six wins and one loss.토토사이트
Lingard is currently without a club. He hasn’t found a new club since being released by English Premier League (EPL) side Nottingham Forest in June. He was once rumored to return to West Ham United, but that didn’t materialize. According to Romano, Lingard’s move to Saudi Arabia is up to Gerrard.
Lingard has made 182 appearances in the EPL, scoring 29 goals and providing 17 assists. He came up through the Manchester United youth ranks but failed to break into the first team. Last season, he failed to record an offensive point in 17 EPL games. He has nine goals and five assists in 16 games in the 2020-21 season.
