“Dylan Brooks, the world recognizes you,” Houston head coach believes
Brooks wins the heart of a Houston general manager.
Houston Rockets general manager Rafael Stone recently sat down for an interview with KPRC 2 Houston. During the interview, Stone raved about the play of Dillon Brooks.
The Rockets signed Brooks to a four-year, $86 million contract this summer. But there were concerns about the deal. Brooks’ performance hasn’t been what it used to be.
Brooks averaged 14.3 points last season. That’s a 4.1 point drop from the season before, when he set a career high. In the first round of the playoffs against the Los Angeles Lakers, he averaged just 10.5 points in six games. Poor shot selection, ups and downs, and too many nervous battles with opponents held him back.
But Brooks bounced back at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023. Representing Canada at the tournament, he averaged 15.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 58.8 percent shooting from three-point range.
Brooks was not intimidated in the bronze medal game against the world’s best team, the United States, as he exploded for 39 points, including seven three-pointers, to give his country the bronze medal.
Brooks’ value also showed on defense. Still playing strong defense, he was named the tournament’s best defender. “I’m the best perimeter defender in the world,” Brooks said, exuding confidence.
Coach Stone also applauded Brooks’ performance.
“I’m so happy to have Dillon Brooks on our team, he’s had some of the most memorable performances of any player in recent memory, and despite some strange and misleading rumors about him, the world now recognizes that he’s a very good basketball player,” Stone said.카지노사이트
Brooks had a disappointing season last year. But Stone and the Rockets believed in him and gave him a big contract. Brooks has been shifting gears since the World Cup to live up to the hype.
It will be interesting to see if Brooks can keep the momentum going next season.
