It was an inning that broke a 0-0 tie. In his second meeting with Texas hitters, the opposition came out aggressive and allowed hits.

The first batter, Corey Seager, hit an 83-mph cutter that sailed between the second baseman and shortstop for an infield single.

It was Seager’s 1,000th career hit.

The next batter, Robbie Grossman, got a body cutter up the middle that Grossman smashed over the left field fence. Grossman’s ninth home run of the season.

Ryu, who gave up a two-run homer in the fourth inning in his last start against Oakland, gave up another in the fourth.

He gave up another to Jonah Heim, but the rest of the bats held up well.

Nathaniel Lowe was particularly impressive. He struck out the side with a four-pitch curveball on an 0-2 count, completely taking away their timing.

His pitch count was low. He threw 13 pitches, totaling 53.
