“A Holland + Kane mix”…Man Utd spend $118m on 20-year-old striker

“Rasmus Hojlund is a cross between Elling Holland and Harry Kane”

That’s what the EBL, a performance and player analysis page with 130,000 followers on Twitter, posted on Jan. 31.

“His potential is frightening,” the EBL said, “and he’s a perfect fit for Manchester United and the Eric Tenhague system.”

“He’s not as fast as Holland. But he’s fast and centered, so he’s a scoring threat in transition,” he said. “He’s also not as safe (on the ball) as Kane. But he can distinguish between physicality and technique to create shots.”

The Danish-born striker, who plays for Atalanta in the Italian Serie A, is one of Europe’s rising stars. In his first year in the big leagues last season, he scored nine goals and added two assists in 32 Serie A appearances for Atalanta.

He’s been compared to Manchester City’s Elling Holland, with his 6-foot-3 frame, speed (he runs the 100 meters in under 11 seconds), and goalscoring ability. He was born in 2003 and has a lot of potential.

“When Manchester United are building up, Hoi Lun can drop down to utilize the space between the lines,” says EBL. If the opponent decides to block him directly, he has the physicality to match the physical beasts of the Premier League. He also has the pace to keep up with opponents if they try to counter-attack.”
